Writing is both an art and a craft.
Every word that you think, choose and then put down on paper or on a digital canvas arises from you and comes through you.
This happens in a matter of microseconds of course but it does happen.
It’s your soul energy that brings the words onto a page. It’s a beautiful dance that happens between heart and mind, between emotions and logic.
And there’s no one else on earth (or on any other plane!) who can produce quite the same words in quite the same way as you.
It’s why the act of creating blog posts, social media posts, promotional content or even a text message to a friend, is an art.
But it’s important to remember that writing is also a craft. A skill.
And like all skills, it needs to be nurtured. The only way to do this?
Create a writing habit.
Don’t aim to write beautifully. Just aim to write. Don’t aim to impress. Just aim to write.
Don’t aim to sound smart or knowledgeable or funny. Just write. Just write. Just write.
Every. Single. Day.
Write a journal entry. Write about the color of the sky. Write how you feel about your favorite series on Netflix.
Try to pick the same time everyday, whenever you feel most awake and alive (it’s the early morning hours for me).
Set aside at least 5 minutes and go for it.
Capture your words in Evernote, in a special folder on your computer or in a journal.
The whole point is to send a signal out into the Universe and back into your own mind, that you, <please insert your name> are a writer.
When you do this, all kinds of magical energies will be drawn to you.
Words are incredibly powerful. They are vessels of energy that can bring the intangible into existence. They also clear space for the energies of the Universe to flow through you.
The energies of power, of beauty, of purpose, of influence. The all-powerful universal energy of manifesting.
These energies will help you make your writing meaningful, transformational… even transcendental.
Writing everyday demonstrates to yourself and to the Universe that you’re serious about the words that you put out there.
And you need to be serious about this because often, words are all you have to make sense of an often unjust and painful world.
Sometimes words are all you have to channel your fragile hopes, your delicate dreams, your promises to yourself.
Words are all you have to share your brilliant ideas and insights about the work that you do.
They’re all you have to project all of who you are, where you come from, your heart and your soul.
So commit and keep writing until it no longer feels like a job or a chore. Keep writing until it comes naturally.
Your energy needs to move through you, into the words and out into the world where all the right people will see them, be drawn to them and connect with them and with you.
(It’s why I often like to say that more than any other kind of entrepreneur, a spiritual conscious entrepreneur must learn to write at least some of her own copy).
So make a commitment to create a writing habit and then stick to it.
I promise you this…
You will become more of who you truly are and you will become a better writer. Maybe even a great writer. The secrets of structure and flow, of influence, focus, and direction only truly reveal themselves to those who commit to the craft.
When you commit to a writing habit, you will become the kind of person who can reach and transform the hearts and minds of people who matter to you whether that’s your dream clients, your kids, or your community.
You will be the kind of person who finds clarity and confidence in their own ideas and inspirations.
And one day, when the words flow, when your heart is full as you share the spirit of your words with your clients, with the people you love, with the people who need it most…
You will experience the magic, and the power of writing words that move, transform, inspire, motivate, and influence… and you will be hooked!
You will finally and irrevocably know in your bones, in your soul, and without a shadow of a doubt that you are indeed a writer.
And you’ll finally understand what it means when people say, words can change the world.
