Open your mouth only if what you are going to say is more beautiful than silence — Buddha
As a conscious, spiritual entrepreneur, I know you value integrity and heart… and you don’t want to write or speak about just anything.
Every time you say something or write something for your clients, your audience or the people in your life, you want it to be loving, helpful or at the very least… interesting.
And that’s where things get kinda sticky!
The ongoing quest to share valuable social media posts, blog posts, and livestreams or even sales content like sales pages and sales posts can feel like you’re stuck running on a hamster wheel from hell…
There’s no end in sight and your only choice is to keep running and running — total nightmare!
I have a single guiding principle to share when you want to answer the “What should I write about?” question…
Switch from “What can I write about?” to “How can I help?”
“How can I help?” instantly shifts your attention and focus to your readers/ audience and away from your own “stuckness”
This can kickstart creative flow and encourage your connection to The Pure Energy of Creation.
I like to walk my talk so my topic today is something that answers the “how can I help?” question 🙂
I’m going to share how to come up with magical, magnetic content ideas using just an Oracle Deck! First thing to know is your Oracle Deck is there to unblock your creativity and supply you with juicy ideas so stay open to unusual connections and interplay between the card that you draw from your deck and the work that you do in your business.
You can also use your Oracle Deck to create writing prompts if you want to flex your writing muscles or come up with an enjoyable daily writing practice.
You don’t have to use a specific Oracle Deck… just about any Deck will work.
My personal favorite deck for content ideas and writing prompts is a deck by Sonia Choquette and it’s called Trust Your Vibes. This is an especially useful deck for a Topic Treasure Hunt because the cards come with messages that are super short and to-the-point.
There are essentially 3 ways you can use an Oracle Deck to find a topic for your next video, social post or blog post or anything else that you’re planning to write.
Pathway #1
Draw a card and use the words you see on the card to come up with a topic idea.
Pathway #2
Draw a card and use the artwork to find visual clues that’ll take you to your topic.
Pathway #3
Draw a card and refer to the message in the Guidebook. Then, feel into what wants to come through for you.
Points to note…
Pathway #1 works well for Word Nerds (like me!) and our creativity and connection to the Pure Energy of Creation is triggered mainly through words while Pathway #2 works well if you receive inspiration and ideas mainly from images and visuals (so if you love pictures, paintings and images over words, try this pathway first!)
So, here’s how each of those methods work.
Pathway #1
Here’s a card that I drew from the Trust Your Vibes deck:
I look at this and the word that jumps out at me is “solution” and that’s the word I’ll work with. I’d ask myself, “What are some easy solutions I can share for some of their biggest problems around writing such as chronic procrastination?” If you’re a strategist the word “solution” can lead you to write about “3 Specific Solutions to Fix Your Sales Funnel” or if you’re spiritual coach, you might decide to write about “1 Method You Can Use to Start a Meditation Practice that Lasts”
And here’s another card I drew, this one’s from Alana Fairchild’s gorgeous Sacred Rebels Oracle deck:
I see this phrase and the word that popped into my mind was “counterintuitive” because it “goes against the grain.” The next idea that came to me was “What’s one bit of helpful yet counterintuitive advice I can offer?”
For example, one thing that’s counterintuitive that I love to talk about is…
When it comes to success in your business, it’s not who you know, it’s not even what you know, it’s who you ARE that counts
Pathway #2
Let’s imagine you drew this card (little tip… with this Pathway, try not to focus on the words, just bring your attention to the image):
The artwork on this card makes me think about the cyclical nature of things…
For instance, creativity and creative energy are non-sequential. It rises, falls and rises, again in an ongoing cycle.
I’d happily write about “How to Flow in Harmony with the Rise and Fall of Creative Energy” and what to do if you feel you’ve hit a “dry spell” 🙂
As an Intuitive Spiritual Expression Coach and Writing Coach, the idea of the cyclical nature of creative energy feels like a great topic
This is something that came to me when I looked at the artwork on the card but when you gaze at that same image, you might see something totally different.
As I mentioned, working with Oracle Decks in this way is about staying open to ideas that come to you and then allowing yourself to make connections related to what you do.
Pathway #3
This method involves working with the Guidebook that comes with the card.
I just pulled a card from the Trust Your Vibes deck and here’s what I received:
Here’s part of the message in the Guidebook…
… having fun is not a waste of time. It allows the Universe to work on your behalf while you refresh your soul and gain a new perspective….
The topic that instantly comes up for me is “3 Fun Things You Can Do to Escape Writer’s Block.”
Feel free to use your favorite Oracle Deck the next time you’re stuck for a content topic or idea.
You’ll find it’s an effective way to keep content ideas and topics flowing while adding a dash of magic and into the process 🙂
Have fun!
I love how you write! Thank you for your magic in the world!
You are SO welcome, Johanna! Thank YOU for your kind words… received with deep gratitude and love 🙂
