The late, great Dr. Wayne Dyer said “Our Intention Creates Our Reality”. I love his book which has the same name as the title of this post ☺
Living with intention can (and will) change everything. It serves as a wonderful guiding light for your life but it is also a beautiful practice that we can have as part of our daily routine.
I try to set an intention at the start of every day. I’m using the word “try” because sometimes, my mind gets crowded with thoughts of what I have to do that day or all the things or my “to do” list that are still left “to do” and I get distracted!
But every, single time that I do take a few minutes to set an intention, when I evoke the energy of pure desire and love from my heart when I set that intention, my day unfolds with so much more clarity, peace and ease.
Setting an intention aligns your mind with the desires of your heart. It aims your energy system, so to speak, and allows thoughts, ideas and creativity.
Here’s a special, 5-step method to set an intention for your day. You can do this at anytime but I find that doing it in the early morning when you first wake up or in the evening of the day before (when you set the intention for the next day), is best.
Step #1: Become aware of your wish
First ask yourself what you wish for in your heart. Some questions that can help you do this – what do you wish for the most for today? What matters most? What would make you feel the most fulfilled?
Step #2: Get into your heart space
Next, it’s time to get into your heart space. Close your eyes and take 1 to 3 deep breaths (breathing in for a count of 4 and breathing out for a count of 6 is very relaxing)
Step #3: Bring your intention to life
Now, you’re ready to bring your intention to life with your heart energy. Speak your intention out loud or in your mind and imagine it surrounded by a beautiful pink light of love
That’s it! It’s super simple. Keep your intention close to your heart by thinking about it every time you feel frazzled during the day. If it helps, write it down and keep it close to you through the day.
Today, my intention is to speak, write and act from my heart so I am aligned with the highest purpose of my soul.
